Graeme Armstrong is a Broken Hill based photographer who trained at RMIT in the 1980’s. He works predominantly on portraiture in digital media and is now exploring the wet plate collodian process. He received first prize in the Desert Equinox Environmental Art Awards 2019.

The Australian bush at night provides an opportunity for exploring negative space and how the darkness both lures and unsettles. Staring into the darkness our imagination fills the space with things we hope to see and our fears. The trees emerge familiar from the night but what lies beyond our perception?
