Juxtaposing ephemeral and eternal; natural and synthetic materials, Anthropocene illustrates our impact and the effects our activity is having on the environment.
Clay from the earth is the foundation of each work. An amalgam of materials arises from every piece. Some materials are natural, designed to disappear back into the earth symbolising the cycle of life. Other materials are representative of our activity. Our ignorance. Our arrogance.
In the generations to come, long after the natural materials of each piece has returned to the earth, the man-made elements will continue to exist in defiance of all that is natural.
A true representation of Anthropocene.
