Trunk Show & Artist Talk | Racheldaisy Dodd

Racheldaisy Dodd

Rachaeldaisy has become synonymous with bold, colourful, eye popping quilts! It’s no wonder after 20 years of being a florist
experimenting and mastering colour and form.

Whilst honouring the tradition of quilting Rachaeldaisy strives to find fresh ways and new techniques to interpret conventional designs. Her use of 3D elements such as folded and gathered fabric techniques, yoyo puffs, prairie points, wool felt, appliqued and pieced denim create beautifully unique textured work.

Her fresh interpretation of the art of quilting has seen her quilts awarded many prizes including several Best In Show awards, Best Use Of Colour, Most Innovative, and several Viewers Choice prizes. Rachaeldaisy’s quilts have been exhibited in quilt shows and galleries, on the catwalks of Paris and featured in many publications both nationally and internationally.

Rachaeldaisy Dodd was awarded Second Place in this years Pro Hart Outback Art Prize for her work, I love a Sunburnt Country.

This event will include a viewing of the Silver City Quilters, Charles Sturt Sesquicentenary 1844 - 1994 Commemorative Quilt, 1994. Part of the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery Collection.
