Join us at the Broken Hill City Art Gallery these school holidays for a variety of creative, family-friendly activities. From self-guided adventures to hands-on workshops, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Gallery Detectives

Free Kids & Families Activity
Pick up your Gallery Detectives worksheet from the front desk and set off on a fun, self-guided adventure through the Gallery. Explore the artworks on display, answer questions, and sketch your own creations.

Drop-In Drawing Days – Celebrate Regional Australia

Join us for two special Drop-In Drawing Days these school holidays. Kids and families can come along any time between 10 am – 3 pm and create artworks inspired by what they love most about living in or visiting regional Australia – from animals and sunsets to favourite places, family traditions, or imaginative outback adventures.

All artworks will become part of a special online gallery exhibition on the Gallery’s website, where families can download a keepsake or share with friends and relatives.

Little Pros – Pro Hart Inspired Workshop

Kids and families of all ages are invited to join our Little Pros workshop and celebrate the spirit of Pro Hart. Participants will experiment with acrylic painting techniques and create their own masterpiece on canvas to take home.

This special program is held in honour of Pro Hart and the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize exhibition, currently on display at the Gallery.

Flower Pressing Drop-In Day – Celebrate Spring & Nature

Celebrate spring at the Gallery with a day of flower pressing and nature-inspired art. Kids and their families are invited to drop in any time between 11 am – 3 pm and create their own pressed flower artworks.

Experiment with natural materials to make mini artworks, bookmarks, greeting cards, and more.
