Pro Hart Outback Art Prize

The Pro Hart Outback Art Prize is an annual acquisitive competition. The prize showcases work in any media which reflects the spirit and diversity of the Australian Outback.

The prize consists of an Acquisitive First Prize, a Non-Acquisitive Second Prize and a People’s Choice Award with a total prize pool of $23,000.

Who is the judge this year?

This year the Gallery is excited to have Susi Muddiman OAM (Director Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre) as the judge for the 2020 Pro Hart Outback Art Prize.

When is the Exhibition Open to the public?

Friday 4th September, 2020 - Saturday 14th November, 2020.

Do I need to book a time to visit the Gallery?

Yes, self-guided sessions run daily (Tuesday - Saturday at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm) and can be booked online here.

What happens if I book my session and cannot make it, or need to change the date/time?

Easy! Just let us know via email or phone, and we can modify or cancel your booking.


What about the People's Choice Award? How can I place my vote?

Voting will be available online this year once the exhibition is open.


I am unable to travel to see the show. Will I be able to view it online?

Yes, once the online opening event finishes, the exhibition will be available to view online.
