Pick up a Gallery Art Scavenger Hunt worksheet from the front desk and set off on a self-guided search through the Gallery. Look closely at artworks to find hidden details, colours, shapes and visual clues, answer questions, and complete small drawing challenges along the way. A fun activity for kids and families that encourages careful looking and discovery. Collect a small prize when you finish.

Make-Your-Own Felt Christmas Decorations

Create your own felt Christmas decorations to take home in this relaxed, all-ages drop-in workshop. Materials provided include pre-cut felt shapes, thread, markers, buttons and beads. Younger children can make simple designs using glue-on decorations, while teens and adults can choose more detailed, hand-stitched or filled felt ornaments. Suitable for all skill levels.

Cyanotype Printmaking Workshop

Inspired by the exhibition Time and Tide, this guided workshop introduces participants to cyanotype printmaking. Using local flora, sunlight and hand-coated paper, participants will create beautiful blue-and-white prints to take home. Suitable for beginners.

Sculpt a Bust: Clay Sculpture

Teens 12–18

Inspired by Sharing the National Collection, teens will design and sculpt their own miniature bust or clay sculpture. Participants will learn basic sculpting techniques and explore form and texture while developing their own creative ideas.

Little Artists – Creative Workshop + Mini Exhibition

Young artists will enjoy a guided creative workshop producing their own colourful canvas artwork. Each finished work will be professionally displayed on a temporary wall in the Gallery for one day. Families are invited to a special mini exhibition and friendly Q&A, where children can talk about their ideas and inspiration with gallery visitors. A supportive introduction to exhibiting in a real gallery setting.
