Maari Ma Indigenous Art Awards
Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery, Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Health Corporation and West Darling Arts invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists residing in the Far West region of NSW (Broken Hill City Council, Central Darling Shire Council, Wentworth Shire Council and the Unincorporated Area) to submit entries for the 2020 Maari Ma Indigenous Art Awards. This year is the 10th Anniversary of the Indigenous prize with an increased prize pool of $10,000 thanks to Maari Ma.
The aim of the prize is to provide an opportunity to showcase and celebrate art works and creativity in the Far West by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. The prize in non-acquisitive.
MMIAA is presented in collaboration with the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery, Maari Ma Aboriginal Health Corporation and West Darling Arts.
Open Art Prize
Artwork in any medium on any theme (Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, film, installation etc.).
1st Prize - $5000
2nd Prize - $2000
Emerging Artist Award - $1000
Nhuungku Prize for Excellence - $1000
Young Artist Prize* - Art pack to the value of $1000
*Artists under the age of 18 will automatically be eligible for the Young Artist Prize
