The Barkindji Edible & Medicinal Plants: Community Field Guide is a community-led publication celebrating Barkindji knowledge, culture and the deep and enduring relationship between people, plants and Country.
Developed through collaboration with Barkindji Elders, community members and project partners, the guide brings together knowledge of native edible and medicinal plants found on Barkindji Country. The project was created to help share and preserve this important cultural and ecological knowledge for current and future generations.
More than a plant guide, the publication reflects the connection between Country, culture, community and wellbeing, and the important role that plants continue to play as sources of food, medicine, knowledge and connection.
