Going, Going, Gone: Ann Mitchell

26 August 2025

Broken Hill artist Ann Mitchell pays tribute to endangered and extinct species through delicate watercolours. Each animal is painted with quiet attention to detail and accompanied by its conservation status, creating a powerful reminder of the fragility of our ecosystems.

Outback Dreamscapes: Isabella Seraphima Rose

26 August 2025

Outback Dreamscapes reimagines the colonial terrace house set within vast and dramatic natural landscapes. Drawing on the traditions of early photographic theatre and sublime landscape painting, Isabella creates surreal compositions that merge the built and the wild.

We Were Women Before Our Time: Aimee Volkofsky

26 August 2025

We Were Women Before Our Time is a multimedia portrait of the women shaped by, and shaping, the mining country of far western New South Wales. Set in and around Broken Hill on Wilyakali Country, the work collages interviews, sound, video, and archival fragments to explore how women’s lives are forged in remote, extractive towns.
