Sharing the National Collection

The Broken Hill City Art Gallery is truly honoured to share works from the National Gallery of Australia as part of the Sharing the National Collection initiative. Home to the most valuable collection of art in Australia, the national collection comprises over 155,000 works of art, including the world’s largest collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.

2025 MMIAA Exhibition

The Maari Ma Indigenous Art Awards celebrate the creativity and cultural strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from the Maari Ma and West Darling Arts region. The annual non-acquisitive prize provides an important platform for artists to share stories, connections to Country, and expressions of identity through painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, and mixed media.

Time and Tide

Time and Tide brings together seven established printmakers from across New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. The exhibition reflects on the evolution of printmaking through the pairing of early and recent works, tracing each artist’s creative journey as they explore continuity, change, and the passage of time.
